Arkansas Razorbacks Punch Ticket to 2025 College World Series with Dominant Win Over Tennessee
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The OmaHogs are back in Omaha! The Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team (48-13) secured their 12th trip to the College World Series after a commanding 11-4 victory over the Tennessee Volunteers (46-19) in Game 2 of the 2025 NCAA Fayetteville Super Regional.
The Hogs struck first in the third inning. Charles Davalan (2-for-2, 2 RBI) launched a two-run homer to spark the offense. Although Tennessee answered with a run in the bottom of the inning, Arkansas responded immediately.
In the fourth, Cam Kozeal scored on a wild pitch. Moments later, Logan Maxwell (3-for-5, 4 RBI) crushed his first career grand slam, pushing the Razorbacks ahead 7-1. From that point on, Arkansas never looked back.
Gage Wood started on the mound and delivered 3.1 innings of one-run baseball. He was followed by Cole Gibler, a true freshman, who dominated in relief. Gibler threw 2.2 scoreless innings, striking out four and retiring 8 of 10 batters. His effort earned him his third win of the season.
The Razorbacks extended their lead in the seventh inning. Kuhio Aloy knocked in a run with an RBI single. Two more runs came across on bases-loaded walks. Then, in the ninth, Brent Iredale (1-for-4, HR, RBI) added the finishing touch with a solo home run.
To close it out, Aidan Jimenez, Parker Coil, and Christian Foutch each pitched a solid inning. Their combined efforts sealed the win and sent Arkansas back to Omaha for the eighth time under head coach Dave Van Horn.
Most importantly, the Razorbacks finished the season with an impressive 37-4 record at Baum-Walker Stadium. Both the win total and .902 win percentage are new single-season records for the program.
