UTSA Baseball Wins First NCAA Regional Championship
The UTSA Roadrunners made history at UFCU Disch-Falk Field in Austin, Texas. They defeated the No. 2 overall seed, Texas, with a final score of 7-4. This win gave UTSA its first-ever NCAA Regional Championship.
A Perfect Run in the Austin Regional
UTSA went undefeated (3-0) in the 2025 Austin Regional. Even more impressively, they beat Texas twice. As a result, the team will move on to the NCAA Super Regionals for the first time.
Big Plays Lead to Big Moments
In the first inning, Norris McClure hit a two-run homer to put UTSA on the board. Later in the third, the Roadrunners scored five more runs. Ty Hodge hit a bases-clearing double, and Mason Lytle added another run with a single.
Strong Pitching Seals the Win
Gunnar Brown pitched five strong innings, allowing only one run and striking out four. After that, Connor Kelley took over with three strikeouts in the sixth. Robert Orloski closed the game and earned his ninth save of the season.
